Old World Hunting in Estonia 
Join us on an authentic Russian Boar hunt in Estonia. Estonia is now in the EU. With a population of only 1.5 million people in a country which is about 45,000 square km. By comparison, Scotland has an area of 77,000 and England an area of 130,000 square km. Hunt like the nobals of old and stay in the luxurious Taagepera Castle.
Taagepera Castle
The history of the castle situated on the Latvian border begins in the 16th century, when it belonged to the von Rehbinders. Its Estonian name, Takelberg or Tagaper, originates from the von Stackelbergs(1694-1796). The castle has 32 specious and comfortable rooms, a restaurant, hunting hall and an original wood- heated sauna house with a steam room and fireplace hall.

The Wild Russian Boar
During the last centuries, the multitude of wild boars on the Estonian territory has considerably varied but the population has stabilized during the last decades at present time there are over 13,000 wild boars.
Wild boar (Sus scrofa) may be hunted all-the-year-round by hunting from stands or stalking hunt and by driven hunt with or without dogs from 1st October up to 28th February. Sow with piglets may be hunted from 1st October up to 31st January.
Approximately 10% of adult male boars qualify as the medal winning trophies weighing by far over 100 kilograms or 220 lbs. The length of lower tusks of medal winning trophies starts from approximately 8 inches.
